Privacy Policy

Overview

Ghost Jobs Index is designed to be anonymous by default. We do not require registration or collect personal information. This policy explains what minimal data we process and why.

What We Collect

Complaint content

When you submit a complaint, we store the information you provide: company name, job posting URL, complaint type, description, and any supporting details. This content is publicly visible on the complaints directory.

IP address hash

To prevent duplicate submissions and vote manipulation, we compute a one-way cryptographic hash of your IP address. This hash cannot be reversed to reveal your actual IP address or any derivative data (such as location, internet provider, etc). We use it solely to enforce one-complaint-per-network and one-vote-per-complaint limits.

User agent hash

Similar to the IP hash, we may store a one-way hash of your browser's user agent string as an additional uniqueness signal. This is also non-reversible.

Contact form

If you use our contact form, we collect your name and email address solely to respond to your message. This data is processed by Web3Forms and is not used for any other purpose. We only collect this information with your explicit consent, given via the mandatory checkbox on the contact form.

What We Do Not Collect

  • No user accounts or registration
  • No email addresses or personal identifiers when filing complaints
  • No credit or debit card numbers
  • No raw IP addresses are stored

Third-Party Services

Cloudflare

Our site is served through Cloudflare, which may process your IP address for CDN delivery, DDoS protection, and DNS resolution. We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand aggregate traffic patterns. Cloudflare Analytics is privacy-focused — it does not use client-side tracking cookies or collect personal data. See the Cloudflare Privacy Policy.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site. Google Analytics may use cookies and collect information such as your IP address, browser type, behavior on each page (scrolls, swipes, form fills), and pages visited. This data is processed by Google and helps us improve the platform. You can opt out by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. See the Google Privacy Policy.

Web3Forms

Our contact form is processed through Web3Forms. When you submit the contact form, your name and email are sent to Web3Forms for delivery. See the Web3Forms Privacy Policy.

Supabase

Complaint data is stored in a Supabase-hosted PostgreSQL database. See the Supabase Privacy Policy.

Data Retention

Complaints and their associated hashes are stored indefinitely to maintain the integrity of the complaints directory. Since we do not store personal information, there is no personal data to delete.

Your Rights

Because we do not collect personal data or maintain user accounts, traditional data subject rights (access, correction, deletion) do not apply in the usual sense. If you believe specific complaint content should be removed, contact us at the address below.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.
