Restaurant Team Member, Overnight Shift - Unit 585
I applied on August 18th. Ten days later, I was emailed a phone number to use to schedule an interview on August 28th. We agreed upon the interview being held Monday the 31st at 3:00pm. I arrived around 2:30pm as I was unsure about the traffic of the area, and was told that the hiring manager was not there that day, and to come back Friday, September 4th, at 3:00pm. I arrived early, and all things considered, believed it went great. Before leaving, I witnessed other candidates with dramatically shorter interviews. I was told at the end of the interview I would receive a response about the decision that was made Monday, September 7th, and that I would hear back regardless of the decision. Another manager who was present both days made a comment that she was sure I would be hired, as if it was already decided. After not hearing anything by Tuesday the 8th, I called. I was told that they had no idea who interviewed me even after I gave my information and described the timeline of prior events. I was told that there was likely a delay and not to worry, and to call Friday the 11th if I had not heard anything by then. I called on the 11th, and was again told they had no idea who me or the hiring manager were. They declined to hear my name, and said that I probably just didn’t get the job, and to move on and stop calling, a complete 180 from the last time I called days prior. I believe this is a ghost job and that no one was meant to be hired, and I was supposed to give up sooner, given the multiple delays and lack of my information being in their records, despite still seeing my own application on the hiring site not marked as rejected.
