Senior Contracts Analyst
Incompetent hiring manager enabled by an even more incompetent executive leadership team. -Job has been posted for nearly 3 months, with an advertised salary range in the job posting of $73k – $94k, BUT THEN on the online application, the company drops the salary range allllll the way down to $65k. --Online application also took nearly 20 minutes to complete, with TONS of questions about my experience working with various ticketing systems & contract management systems, etc. -Against all judgment after seeing the huge disparity in pay between the job ad and the online ad, I proceeded with the application. I received an email asking about my availability “for a quick call to discuss further,” I responded within 30 mins. saying I was available all day, and the unsupervised, inexperienced corporate recruiter said ok, let’s do it tomorrow! (Ummm…) -THEN, the recruiter kid cancelled an hour before phone call the next day due to illness & offered to reschedule or send pre-screening questions to me & then he’d see if the hiring manager wanted to move forward. I told him to just send the pre-screening questions. THEY WERE NEARLY SAME AS THE ONES I HAD ALREADY SPENT 20 MINUTES ANSWERING ON THE ONLINE APPLICATION! -I was offered and (against all judgment) had interview about a week later with the (extremely frazzled) Hiring Manager. She said there was no training process because they’re “too busy to train.” Ummm...but you DO have time to post this ad for 3+ months and attend endless interviews while looking for your unicorn for $65k?! (Also, SWCA has been in business for 40+ years, so it's hard to believe that the company didn't develop a single training process in that time - more likely The Frazzled Hiring Manager is just too egotistical to ask someone around there how to successfully onboard an applicant.) -The Hiring Manager LAUGHED at me when I asked near the end of the interview about next steps, and told me “we only posted the ad a couple of weeks ago” & said she won’t make a decision for a couple of weeks. -I received a rejection TEXT MESSAGE from the recruiter kid not even a week later, telling me they offered the role to someone else. Ummm... remember when the Hiring Manager had LAUGHED at me for asking about a timeline for making a decision and said it would take her "a couple of weeks" to make a decision? The TEXT MESSAGE also cited my inexperience in the “industry." My experience in the industry was never even discussed during the interview; the Hiring Manager was too busy laughing at me. -The TEXT MESSAGE went on to say I should apply again another time. I replied & said I would never again pursue another role with their company. The kid offered a phone call to keep me on the hook as a side piece and I just ignored him -Company reposted the ad not even a month later, and IT IS STILL UP. So, either the candidate they allegedly hired (per the kid recruiter's text message) spun out because of the zero training, or never even existed.
