RETAIL MARKETING MANAGER
I am submitting this feedback regarding my experience interviewing with MBX for a Retail marketing role. I initially began my application process with MBX in early March. I successfully completed both first and second round online interviews with the Senior Manager and General Manager before moving forward into in-person meetings and strategic case-study presentations. The presentations and case studies appeared to be met with positive and satisfactory responses from the team. However, following these meetings, communication significantly declined and I experienced an extended period of little to no follow-up throughout the whole month of April. After this period of silence, HR later re-engaged discussions by introducing a consulting opportunity, citing “distance” as a primary factor impacting the original full-time role consideration. This was particularly confusing and disappointing given that location considerations could have been clarified much earlier in the process prior to multiple interview rounds, presentations, and extensive strategic discussions. Following the consulting discussions, communication again became inconsistent/ ghosted with another approximately two-week period of little to no follow-up. At that point, it became apparent to me that there were broader organizational and communication issues impacting the process, as well as a lack of mutual respect for candidate time and professional contribution. Due to these concerns, I ultimately decided to formally close communication and withdraw myself from further discussions. The overall process extended close to three months and ultimately led nowhere despite the 20 pages extensive level of strategic presentations, campaign thinking, and business recommendations requested throughout the interview cycle. As a candidate, this experience was deeply disappointing and ultimately left me feeling that a substantial amount of high-level strategic input had been extracted without clear organizational alignment, transparency, or follow-through. As a senior-level marketing professional, I fully understand that hiring priorities and internal structures may evolve. However, I believe candidates should be treated with transparency, professionalism, and respect for the considerable time and strategic contribution involved in advanced interview processes. I hope this feedback helps improve the candidate experience and hiring practices moving forward.
