Head of IDC
I applied for a position online in early 2023, and soon received a note from their talent acquisition recruiter. I looked her up to make sure she was legit and seasoned, and not junior. She was impressed by my resume and I asked her what questions she specifically had to get to the core of the matter as it was only a short video call. Her feedback to me on the call "wow, you speak so well." I was taken aback but played it cool. The previous Head was moving to a different department within the organization so it's how the role opened up. Next steps was to set up a call with the team so they had all worked together for years so make sure all was well. I never heard back. I followed up, not a word. Never have I encountered anything like this. Not sure what she reported internally but all other job interviews I had lined up dried up. And kept having recruiting firms I never heard of reach out. This led to suspicious activities with my identity, phone number, and home. I am very particular about my privacy and safety, and take all measurements needed to secure it. Either she bait-and-switched me to firms without my full permission and knowledge about what the role truly is or she blacklisted me (?) or sold my personal information to explotative data farms, call centers, and scammers and phishers to access. Again, I applied to a role to head up their design thinking and experience incubator. Not be some 'agent' or 'law enforcement trainer', or be harassed. The comment "wow, you speak so well." Still throws me off 'til this day. I am hoping this is just a bad seed as Cognizant is well known for services especially in IT and cybersecurity.
